Toronto ZOO!! I LOVE PANDAS!!!!

“We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo.  How about you, you, you? You can come too, too, too. We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo…. (Children Love to Sing Kids Song)
Hello Everyone,
There’s nothing like seeing pandas, it makes all your worries go away.  Last week, I had the opportunity to go to the Toronto Zoo.  It has been soooooo long since I last went to the zoo.  Let’s just say I think maybe Trudeau was Prime Minister at the time. LOL.  Ya, it’s been a while.
Honestly, I had a lot of fun.  I mean I can’t remember walking so much.  My feet still hurt, but, I did enjoy myself.  The Giant Panda Experience, made my day! Those two pandas were the cutest things EVER!!! Listen, they are only in Toronto until 2018. So, put on those walking shoes and get to the TORONTO ZOO!!
Er Shun and Da Mao, were delightful.  I even got to take some great pictures of them.  The exhibit is pretty big.  You get to walk through it and it teaches you about pandas and how much they eat, etc.. It is a great learning experience and it is done quite nicely.  Once you exit, you get to see the cute pandas.  They are in separate surroundings. You need to walk around the display to see both pandas, but, it’s worth it.  When you reach the end, they have a pop up Mandarin.  CHINEESE FOOD!!  SO, amazing.  Unfortunately, I went when it was closed.  Summer hours have ended but the pop up Chinese Food is opened on weekends.  You must go check out Da Mao and Er Shun’s home!!  The exhibit is beautiful.
I did find something to eat. LOL.  You all know me by now, show me the food! We ate BEAVERTAILS!!!! This was my first time trying them.  WOWWWW.  Delicious.  My only problem was the lineup was huge and it took some time to get my treats.
The Toronto Zoo has changed a bit since I last attended.  Well, ya, a lot has changed since then. LOL.  They now have a carousel ride for the kids and get this they have Tundra Air.  Tundra Air is a form of zip line but you’re in two’s sitting.  I did not try it.  I am a pure chicken.  Terrified of heights but it did look fun.  If anyone try’s it, let me know. Ha-ha.
I want to thank the Toronto Zoo, for allowing me to attend.  They were gracious and I have to say I loved my day at the Zoo.  Thank you, to my sister as well, who got me some treats.  I got my own panda! LOL.  I told you, I fell in love with those two!!! Check out the website for the Zoo’s hours and information, www.torontozoo.com.
Until next time boys and girls..” Remember, to always just be yourself, it will eventually one day pay off!” GO TO THE ZOO !!!!!!!!

Toronto Blue Jays, Roberto Alomar!!! I MET HIM!!!!

“Take me out to the ball game.  Take me out with the crowd.  Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks.  I don’t care if I never get back…” (Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer)
Hello Everyone,
On Sunday Sept 14th 2014, I had the amazing opportunity to meet in my opinion, one of the greatest Blue Jays.  Roberto “Robbie” Alomar was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2011 as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays.  In fact, his number #12 was the first number ever retired by the organization.  In his five years in Toronto, this great player brought my city two World Series championships.  He is one of my favorite Blue Jays, and I was so excited to get an opportunity to get an autograph and picture with him!!
The day was amazinggggg.  I was excited from the minute I got up that day.  I had been looking forward to meeting Roberto, ever since I got word that he would be at The Toronto Card Show.   I have met baseball players and hockey players before, but I have to say, Roberto made me sooooo happy.  I was a bit bummed out when the person right in front of me in line, won his rookie card.  However, that all went away when I approached this legend.
I walked up to him; he looked at me and said “DON’T I KNOW YOU?” OHHHHH MY GOD!!!! I don’t even stalk him. LOL.  I really don’t.  I was beyond flattered he remembers me from twitter, blog and pics.  I can say this, Mr. Alomar; you are the sweetest, humblest player I have ever met.  It was such an honor to get you to sign my baseball.  I saved that ball from the Jays game.  It was caught for me by someone who is so special to me, I cannot even describe.  To have you sign that ball, brings tears to my eyes.  That baseball is now priceless.
I admit I got him to sign it “Nicoletta Bella” as the person who caught it for me is the only one who calls me that name. However, again, I heard from this legend; “you are memorable” LOL.  So, now, my baseball is special.   Meeting Roberto Alomar will never be forgotten., AND “Robbie” knows me!?! LOL.  Maybe, one day, Roberto will invite me to watch a game with him? HAHAHAAAA.  I promise, to behave if you invite me. LOL.
I need to add this, my favorite section at Rogers Centre is indeed the Roberto Alomar lounge.  Not only is the lounge nicely done, my favorite foot long hot dogs are sold in that section!! LOL.  So, I would like to thank the Toronto Card Show, for bringing this amazing player to the show.  I would LOVE to thank Roberto for making my day. Lastly, I would like to thank the person who got me my baseball from the Jays game.  That name Roberto, something about it, puts a smile on my face always.
Blue Jays, come on boys, we need to make those playoffs!  That lounge and those Hot dogs need me. LOL.  GO JAYS GO!!!!  Until next time boys and girls, “remember, to always just be yourself, it will eventually one day pay off….”  IT SURE DOES, ROBERTO ALOMAR REMEMBERS ME!!!!!!!!!!

VEGGIE FOOD FEST!!! Happy 30th!! AMAZING Festival.

“I was walkin’ down the street, Yo! To get something to eat, Yo! But everything I’d see, Yo! Looked like it had meat, Yo!” (Vegan Rap by 9 days)

Hello Everyone,
On Sat Sept 6th I attended the 30th Annual Veggie Fest. Happy 30th!!  It was a fantastic event.  I loved the location, the food, the people and the sunny day.  The Vegetarian Food Festival was held at The Harbourfront Centre.  This was actually my first time attending the festival.  I want to say, I cannot wait until next year.  It was truly a great festival, and admission is free.  If you can attend this festival in the future, do so.
As a first timer, you always are thinking where do I start? LOL.  I can tell you, I started in the museum.  I looked at the history, walked through the exhibit; saw the cookbooks but all I was thinking about was: Where is Yam Chops? LOL.  This is a very big event.  It has approx... 130 vendors, so my mind was racing to find them. I had to have that Tuna Less Tuna!!! Guess what? Not only did I find them but they were kind enough to give me a bowl of their amazing Tuna Less Tuna.  IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!! THANK YOU YAM CHOPS.  Yam Chops is a must see at Veggie Fest. If you can check out their store, you will understand my obsession. www.yamchops.com
Walking through the festival, I noticed a line up.  Soul to Bowl, was giving out samples of their “creamy” Vegan Alfredo and Mac n Cheese sauces.  I have been looking for a healthy option to Mac n Cheese and I have to say, Kailey nailed it.  It was really good.  This sweet girl not only won my stomach but she won my heart.  I got an opportunity to speak with her about her company.  The sauces are a tribute to her mom.  Now, I honestly do love her sauces.  The fact her mom was Italian, has nothing to do with my recommendation. LOL You must check out her sauces.  www.soultobowlsauces.com Kailey, it was such a pleasure meeting you.
It is always hard to find a dessert that tastes good and is healthy.  Bloomer’s was nice enough to give me samples of their Kleinurs. They actually looked for me to give me some samples.  Thank you, so much for your hospitality.  I enjoyed my treats.  Kelly, your family and friends did a great job while you baked.  Check out Bloomer’s for healthy snacks.  www.bloomersto.com
Now, I need to give a shout to the Neil Brothers.  Your tortilla chips were everywhere. Ha-ha. I got to eat them all day.  They are delicious with dips.  If you see these chips while grocery shopping, make sure to add them to your purchase.  You will not be disappointed.
I am looking forward to next year.  It was a great festival.  The organizers did a fantastic job.  Thank you Steph, for your kind welcome!  Check out the Vegetarian Food Festival, boys and girls. I am glad I attended. www.vegfoodfest.com See you next year!
Until next time, remember, “to always just be yourself, it will eventually one day pay off…” ©justbeingmeluvuholts
